Job Description

Join IBM Canada as a Virtual IT Asset Coordinator, an entry-level remote role crucial for managing our global IT infrastructure. You will work 100% remotely, collaborating with teams across different time zones to ensure the accurate and efficient handling of IT equipment from procurement to disposition. Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of IT assets throughout their lifecycle, including acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and disposal.
  • Utilize asset management software and databases to track inventory, licenses, and warranty information.
  • Coordinate with procurement, IT support, and end-users for asset deployment and recovery processes.
  • Assist in conducting regular audits of IT assets to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Generate reports on asset status, location, and utilization to support decision-making.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in asset records, escalating complex issues as needed.
  • Support the logistics of IT equipment movement, including shipping and receiving, for remote employees and various office locations.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of IT asset management processes and procedures.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some post-secondary education preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
  • Basic understanding of IT hardware components and software licensing concepts.
  • Problem-solving aptitude and a proactive approach to tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (even informal or volunteer) with inventory management or data entry.
  • Familiarity with IT asset management (ITAM) principles or software.
  • Eagerness to learn about IT infrastructure and supply chain logistics.
  • Certifications in relevant areas (e.g., CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation) are a plus but not required.
