Job Description
Join OCS Group as a highly valued Crime Scene Cleaner, playing a critical role in public sector contracts within Brighton and the surrounding East Sussex area. This specialized position requires a meticulous, resilient, and discreet individual committed to restoring sensitive environments to their original state. You will be responsible for the thorough cleaning and sanitization of locations affected by traumatic incidents, ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed and comprehensive cleaning, decontamination, and remediation of crime scenes and other sensitive incident locations.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and biohazard disposal procedures.
- Utilize specialized cleaning agents, equipment, and techniques for biological and chemical cleanup.
- Safely package and transport biohazardous waste according to regulatory guidelines.
- Document all cleaning and disposal activities thoroughly and accurately.
- Collaborate effectively with emergency services, law enforcement, and other public sector personnel.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion at all times.
- Ensure all assigned tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development related to industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in specialized cleaning, hazardous waste handling, or a related field (e.g., deep cleaning, industrial cleaning).
- Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations, particularly concerning biohazards and bloodborne pathogens.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a sensitive, fast-response team.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to cleaning and remediation.
- Physical stamina and resilience to perform tasks in challenging environments.
- Valid UK driving license and access to reliable transport.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and security clearance.
- Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in biohazard remediation, hazardous waste operations, or crime scene cleanup.
- Experience working within public sector contracts or emergency services support.
- Knowledge of COSHH regulations specific to cleaning and hazardous materials.
- First Aid certification.
