Job Description
Join our dynamic team in Torquay as an independent E-scooter & E-bike Fleet Recharger. This vital night shift role involves collecting, charging, and strategically redeploying our fleet of electric scooters and bikes throughout the city. You’ll play a crucial part in ensuring our users always have access to charged vehicles, contributing to the seamless operation of Torquay’s micro-mobility network. This is an excellent opportunity for independent individuals who thrive on flexible hours and making a tangible impact on sustainable urban transport.
Key Responsibilities
- Locate and collect low-battery e-scooters and e-bikes from designated areas across Torquay using your own vehicle.
- Transport vehicles to your chosen charging location (home or secure facility).
- Efficiently charge multiple e-scooters and e-bikes overnight.
- Redeploy fully charged vehicles to high-demand zones and designated parking spots early morning, following geo-fencing guidelines via the Tier app.
- Perform basic visual inspections of vehicles for damage and report any issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of collected, charged, and deployed vehicles using the provided mobile application.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations during collection and deployment activities.
Required Skills
- Valid UK driving license and access to a reliable vehicle (van or car with sufficient cargo space).
- Smartphone with data plan and ability to use mobile applications.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during night shifts.
- Physical capability to lift and move e-scooters and e-bikes (up to 25 kg).
- Excellent reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Basic understanding of Torquay's geography and high-traffic areas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in fleet management, delivery, or logistics.
- Familiarity with electric vehicles or micro-mobility services.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
