Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate MRI / CT Radiologic Technologist to join our dynamic diagnostic imaging team in St. Anthony, Newfoundland and Labrador. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate MRI and CT scanners to perform diagnostic examinations in accordance with established protocols and physician orders.
  • Position patients safely and accurately for imaging procedures, ensuring optimal image quality and patient comfort.
  • Administer contrast media intravenously as required, monitoring patients for adverse reactions.
  • Ensure strict adherence to radiation safety standards and MRI safety guidelines for patients and staff.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, imaging logs, and documentation.
  • Perform quality control checks on equipment and troubleshoot minor technical issues.
  • Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide clear explanations of procedures to patients, addressing any concerns they may have.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education activities.
  • Assist in training new staff members and students as required.

Required Skills

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiography program.
  • Current registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) or eligibility to register.
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as an MRI and CT Technologist.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MRI and CT physics, anatomy, and cross-sectional anatomy.
  • Proficiency in administering intravenous contrast media.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong commitment to patient safety and quality care.
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced certification in MRI and/or CT.
  • Experience with various MRI and CT scanner platforms.
  • Previous experience working in a rural or remote healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency in a second language, particularly French.
