Job Description

As a Public Policy Specialist specializing in Government Contracts, you will play a crucial role in advising our clients on complex policy matters, regulatory frameworks, and strategic engagement with government entities. This long-term position involves in-depth research, analysis, and interpretation of public policy initiatives to support the successful execution and development of government contracts. You will work within a dynamic team to provide actionable insights, develop policy recommendations, and contribute to white papers and reports that shape public discourse and client strategies. This hybrid role requires a presence in our New Port Richey office for collaborative work and client engagements, alongside the flexibility of remote work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on relevant public policy issues, legislative proposals, and regulatory changes impacting government contracts.
  • Translate complex policy language and legal frameworks into clear, concise, and actionable insights for clients and internal teams.
  • Develop detailed policy briefs, position papers, reports, and presentations for various stakeholders, including senior leadership and government officials.
  • Monitor and track legislative and regulatory developments at federal, state, and local levels to identify potential impacts and opportunities.
  • Liaise with government agencies, industry associations, and academic institutions to gather intelligence and build relationships.
  • Support the development of proposals, grant applications, and strategic plans for government contract acquisition and execution.
  • Participate in stakeholder engagement meetings, workshops, and public forums to represent client interests and gather feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant government regulations and ethical standards in all public policy activities.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in public policy analysis, government relations, or a related field (e.g., 4+ years).
  • Strong understanding of government contracting processes and regulatory environments.
  • Exceptional research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with experience in technical writing and presentations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, Law, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working with or for federal, state, or local government agencies, particularly within the Department of Defense, Homeland Security, or similar sectors.
  • Active security clearance or ability to obtain one.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools and methodologies for policy evaluation.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP).
