Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and physically fit Sports Complex Laborer to join our team in Guildford. This role focuses primarily on outdoor work, ensuring our sports grounds, pitches, and surrounding areas are immaculately maintained. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks, from groundskeeping and general tidiness to minor repairs and equipment maintenance. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work, and contributes to the smooth operation of a busy community sports complex. Full training will be provided for specific equipment and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, weeding, and leaf blowing across pitches, gardens, and pathways.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of outdoor sports equipment and event infrastructure.
- Conduct routine inspections of outdoor facilities and report any damage or hazards.
- Undertake minor repair work on fences, benches, and other outdoor amenities.
- Ensure all outdoor areas, including car parks and walkways, are kept clean, tidy, and free from litter.
- Operate and maintain a variety of manual and powered landscaping equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist with seasonal tasks such as gritting pathways in winter or watering grounds in summer.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with the wider facilities team to support overall complex operations.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and ability to perform demanding outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Basic understanding of groundskeeping and maintenance principles.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.

- Right to work in the UK.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar outdoor labor or groundskeeping role.
- Full UK driving license.
- Experience operating ride-on mowers, strimmers, or other power tools.
- First Aid certification.
