Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Compliance Officer to join our Risk Advisory team in Swansea. This role is pivotal in ensuring Deloitte’s operations, particularly those integrating deeply with the Google Ecosystem (Google Cloud Platform, Google Workspace, etc.), adhere to all relevant regulatory, legal, and internal policy requirements. You will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance programs, with a specific focus on the unique challenges and opportunities presented by cloud-based services and data management within the Google framework. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust compliance policies and procedures specifically tailored to our use of the Google Ecosystem.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and compliance audits related to Google Cloud Platform and Google Workspace configurations, data handling, and access controls.
  • Monitor changes in relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, DPA 2018, ISO 27001) that impact the Google Ecosystem and advise on necessary adjustments.
  • Collaborate with IT, Legal, and business units to ensure compliance requirements are integrated into system designs and operational processes.
  • Provide expert guidance and training to staff on compliance best practices for Google-specific tools and platforms.
  • Investigate and resolve compliance issues, breaches, or concerns related to the Google Ecosystem.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports for management on compliance status, risks, and remediation efforts.
  • Act as a point of contact for external auditors and regulatory bodies regarding Google Ecosystem compliance matters.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Compliance Officer or similar role in a regulated industry.
  • Strong understanding of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR) and industry compliance standards.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the Google Ecosystem, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Google Workspace.
  • Ability to interpret complex legal and regulatory requirements and translate them into actionable business policies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex compliance concepts clearly.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies and control frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CCEP, CIPP/E, Google Cloud Certifications).
  • Experience working in a professional services or consulting firm.
  • Familiarity with cloud security best practices and compliance automation tools.
  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline.
