Job Description
Are you looking to kickstart your career in the insurance industry? Aviva is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team in Corby as an Insurance Claims Adjuster (Trainee). This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with no prior experience in claims to receive comprehensive training and develop a rewarding career. As a Trainee Claims Adjuster, you will play a crucial role in supporting our customers through their claims journey, primarily from a desk-based environment. You will learn to investigate, evaluate, and settle insurance claims fairly and efficiently, ensuring our customers receive excellent service during what can often be a challenging time. Full training will be provided, equipping you with all the necessary skills and knowledge to become a successful claims professional.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete a comprehensive training program to understand insurance principles, claims processes, and relevant regulations.
- Handle a caseload of claims, primarily over the phone and via written correspondence, under supervision.
- Gather necessary information from customers, third parties, and internal systems to assess claim validity and scope.
- Communicate clearly and empathetically with customers, providing updates and explaining claims decisions.
- Ensure all claims are processed accurately and efficiently, adhering to company guidelines and service level agreements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date claim records in the company's systems.
- Collaborate with senior adjusters and other departments to resolve complex claims and improve processes.
- Identify and escalate potential fraudulent claims or high-risk situations.
- Continuously develop knowledge of Aviva products and claims best practices.
Required Skills

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above.
- A demonstrable interest in the insurance or financial services industry.
