Job Description
FedEx Ground is seeking highly motivated and reliable individuals to join our team as a Weekend Freight Handler for a part-time morning shift. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe loading, unloading, and sorting of packages within our fast-paced distribution center. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload packages from trailers and conveyors, manually or using material handling equipment.
- Sort packages by destination in a fast-paced environment.
- Scan and document packages accurately using handheld devices.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment safely and efficiently (training provided if necessary).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient package flow.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 75 lbs regularly (with assistance for heavier items).
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and climb stairs/ladders for extended periods.
- Basic comprehension and communication skills in English.
- Ability to work reliably in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or physically demanding role.
- Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or similar material handling equipment.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
