Job Description
Are you compassionate, detail-oriented, and looking for a stable career in healthcare? Brookdale Senior Living is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Medication Management Aides. No prior experience is required, as we provide comprehensive training to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in this vital role. As a Medication Management Aide, you will play a crucial part in our residents’ well-being by assisting with medication administration and ensuring their comfort and safety. Key Responsibilities
- Administer medications to residents following established protocols and physician orders.
- Observe residents for medication side effects and report any concerns to nursing staff.
- Document medication administration accurately and promptly in resident records.
- Maintain medication carts and storage areas in an organized and sanitary manner.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed, including personal care, mobility, and feeding.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development as required.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and state regulations related to medication management and resident care.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to complete state-mandated training and certification for medication aides (provided by Brookdale)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Basic computer literacy for documentation
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a caregiving or healthcare setting (volunteer or paid)
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology
- CPR and First Aid certification
