Job Description
Are you a wordsmith with a passion for film and television? Do you have an eagle eye for detail and a knack for condensing compelling narratives into concise, engaging summaries? Lionbridge Technologies is seeking a dedicated Junior Synopsis Writer to join our dynamic remote team, with a specialized focus on Netflix content. In this role, you will be instrumental in crafting the short, impactful descriptions that capture the essence of various Netflix titles across genres. Your words will be the first impression for millions of viewers, guiding them through the vast world of streaming entertainment. We’re looking for someone who can quickly grasp complex storylines, identify key selling points, and communicate them effectively, all while adhering to strict style guidelines and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Write clear, concise, and captivating synopses for a wide range of Netflix film and television content.
- Ensure all written content accurately reflects the tone, plot, and genre of the source material.
- Adhere strictly to established style guides, terminology, and content best practices specific to Netflix and internal guidelines.
- Conduct minor research as needed to ensure factual accuracy and proper context.
- Collaborate effectively with content managers, editors, and other team members to refine and finalize synopses.
- Manage multiple writing assignments concurrently and consistently meet tight deadlines.
Required Skills
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills in English (US English).
- Impeccable grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- A genuine passion for and deep understanding of film, television, and streaming content, particularly Netflix's catalog.
- Demonstrated ability to summarize complex information accurately and engagingly.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent time management and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Film Studies, or a related field.
- Previous experience (even freelance or internship) in content writing, copywriting, or synopsis writing.
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) or project management tools.
- A deep understanding of different content genres and audience targeting.
